Thinking of You

August 25, 2020

Hello crafty friends & welcome!  We are so happy that you stopped by.  Today we are sharing a project that we created this past weekend.  We had a super-fun crafty day together (we have been isolating to stay safe, but just needed some Sister/craft therapy, and it was just what the doctor ordered)!  We spent the day getting inky and made tons of new alcohol ink backgrounds.  Then we played with a ton of new products that we had purchased but hadn’t yet had the time to use.  It was a heavenly day!  This pretty layered card was created with a bunch of our newest products.

Focal Point:

  • The foliage branches were stamped on 80 lb. cardstock with black ink that is alcohol marker friendly
  • The branches were all colored with alcohol markers, and were then cut out using coordinating dies
  • The elongated hexagon frame was cut 3 times from white cardstock scraps and twice from gold foil cardstock
  • The hexagonal frames were stacked with one of the gold frames on top and were adhered together using liquid glue
  • Four negative space hexagonal die cuts were also stacked for dimension and adhered together with liquid glue
  • The subsentiment was stamped directly onto the white hexagonal die cut (inner part of the gold frame) with black pigment ink, which was then splattered with black acrylic craft paint that was thinned slightly with water
  • The word “You” was die cut 3 times from black cardstock, and the die cuts were layered and adhered together with liquid glue to create a thick, dimensional die cut

Background Panel:

  • The kraft background panel was stamped with a background stamp using white pigment ink
  • The stamped panel was then die cut using a stitched A2 rectangle die
  • The die cut panel was backed with 4 stacked layers of scrap cardstock for dimension and was adhered to a white notecard

Card Assembly:

  • The die cut foliage branches were arranged and glued directly to the card panel
  • The white hexagonal die cut was adhered over the top of the foliage using foam tape for dimension
  • The stacked gold frame was adhered around the white die cut, and the second gold frame was off set and adhered on top of the other gold frame
  • The stacked “You” die cut word was adhered under the subsentiment with liquid glue

Finishing Touches:

  • Gold baubles were arranged on the card panel to form a visual triangle and were adhered with liquid glue

As always, we are so thankful for your visit and would appreciate any feedback that you may have to share, so feel free to leave your comments on this post.  Stay safe and healthy!
