You’re the Sweetest

July 3, 2020

Hello crafty friend!  We are so happy that you’re here.

Today’s card features a cute set of fruit stamps by Momenta.  The background was inspired by a card we saw on IG by @queenandcompany Designer Kim Watson.  We love the pops of yellow and turquoise against the white stitched card base.

Focal Point:

  • The fruit images were stamped with black hybrid ink onto 80 lb. smooth white cardstock
  • All images were colored with alcohol markers
  • Shading was added with colored pencils
  • The colored images were fussy-cut

Background Panel:

  • A white 4 ¼’ x 5 ½’ card panel was splattered with yellow acrylic paint that was thinned with plain water
  • Once it was dry, the splattered panel was cut out using a stitched rectangle die.
  • A scrap piece of turquoise cardstock was dry embossed with an embossing folder and our die cut machine
  • The embossed cardstock was then cut with a stitched circle die
  • The same circle die was used to cut 3 more stitched circles from scrap white cardstock
  • The white circles were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue
  • The turquoise circle die cut was adhered on top of the stacked white circles using liquid glue

Card Assembly:

  • The sentiment was stamped directly onto the splattered card panel using black pigment ink
  • Clear embossing powder was sprinkled onto the stamped sentiment and was heat-set
  • A thin yellow mat was added, and the entire card panel was adhered to a white top-folding card base
  • The turquoise stacked circle die cut was adhered to the middle of the splattered card panel
  • The fruit images were arranged and adhered to the front of the card panel, overlapping the turquoise circle.  The front-most fruit images were popped up with foam tape for dimension

Finishing Touches:

  • A layer of Glossy Accents was added to some of the fruit for shine and dimension
  • A bow made from red baker’s twine was adhered toward the bottom of the turquoise circle die cut

As always, we are grateful for your visit today.  Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day!!
