We are just gaga over the newest release from Graciellie Design called “Words of Hope”! Today’s card features the large Orchid Branch image with accents of gold….So elegant!
Focal Point:
- The Orchid Branch image was resized and printed on Accent Opaque 80 lb. white cardstock with a laser printer.
- The image was also printed on a sheet of masking paper.
- The image was colored with Alcohol markers and shading was added with colored pencils.
- The printed mask was fussy-cut and was adhered over the stamped image.
- The sentiment was printed on heavy weight vellum, and was run through a laminator using gold heat-activated foil.
Background Panel:
- Strips of low-tack masking tape were laid down over the masked image in a striped pattern.
- Distress ink was blended over the masked panel using a blender brush.
- Once the masks were removed, approximately ½” from the right edge of the card panel was cut away, being careful to cut around the parts of the image that were hanging over the edge.
- The cut card panel was mounted on a coral-colored cardstock piece using foam tape for dimension. The finished size of the layered card panel is 3 ¾” x 8 ¾”.
Card Assembly:
- The sentiment was trimmed down to a 1 ½” x 3 ¾” strip. The strip was wrapped around the portion of the card panel that was popped up.
- A 1/8” strip was cut from gold mirror cardstock and was adhered to the card panel to provide a bit of contrast and shimmer between the ink-blended panel and the coral cardstock.
- The entire card panel was adhered to a 4” x 9” white card base made from Accent Opaque 120 lb. cardstock.
Finishing Touches:
- Glitter marker was applied over the flower centers for some sparkle.
- Gold sequins were scattered and adhered over the card panel to form a “visual triangle”.
